Product Advantages

The production of special reinforced pre-cast concrete machine bases, as an alternative to full cast-iron machine frames, is relatively new technology, which:-

• Gives significant weight savings of around 50% in the base weights, without reducing the base strength;
• Generally offers price reductions on the machine base cost due to lower steel usage within the base;
• Is simpler as the basic machine frame, without the concrete in place, is of lower weight, which enables simpler manipulation during construction when it is welded together.  The final base strength is then obtained by filling with concrete;
• Uses high quality concrete with high adhesive properties to steel;
• Gives significantly improved dampening of noise and vibration during machine operation.
